Mom’s Mistake

My mom came to stay with us for a few weeks when our last baby was born. I was so grateful to have the help around the house. Not only did she help me with the new babyso that I could get a few hours of sleep every night, she spent a lot of time with our two-year-old daughter, who was having major issues because of the birth of her little brother. I don’t think we would have been able to handle all of the pressure without mom here. She did great, except that she kept on setting off our home security system. She felt so bad, but my husband and I thought it was hilarious. Every time she would go out to run an errand, she would invert the pass code to the alarm system. She was punching in 5374 instead of 3574 to deactivate the alarm. It got the point that my husband and I would set the alarm when we were home just to watch her freak out about the key pad! I know it might not sound that funny, but when you’ve been cooped up with a newborn for three weeks, you take your laughs where you can get them.
