Love to Cook

I absolutely love to cook. It’s one of my favorite pastimes, and I love nothing more than seeing smiles on my kids’ faces when I make their favorite meal. I’ll admit that cooking was easier before we moved to our new rural home, as a trip to the grocery store requires a bit of a drive. However, I refuse to allow my difficulty getting to the grocery store to affect my love of cooking—so I have come up with a brilliant solution. Did you know there are websites where you can enter ingredients you have on hand and they’ll search for recipes using those ingredients? It’s absolutely a miracle of modern science. I go to the grocery store once a month since, and I freeze as much as I can. I use the ingredients I have on hand to make recipes I know well, and when I get to the “bottom of the barrel” as my husband says, I start getting creative. I’ll rustle up some carrots, my last few chicken breasts, and some seasonings, and enter them in my recipe website. Done! I can usually find a great recipe using only the stuff I have in my fridge and pantry. Now, the actual internet service was difficult in and of itself—most of the service providers don’t offer service where we live, but my husband stumbled upon Wild Blue Internet Reviews one day at work. We’re able to get online when we need to, even in our incredibly remote location!

Vietnam Special

Thanks for the article from Isaiah Gaines
My husband has taken over my direct tv layton DVR with some special on The History Channel about the Vietnam War. I’m not even sure what it’s called, but this is what I’m sure of—I want nothing to do with watching it. I was sitting in the kitchen, working on my laptop, the first time he watched it. I caught a few glimpses and was completely disgusted. It was so incredibly violent and graphic. Now, please understand that I am aware that war is graphic. And I have nothing but absolute respect for anyone who fights for our country. However, I cannot fill my head with those images. I am not the sort of person who is able to get the images out of her head, unfortunately. My husband has decided he wants to watch the specials on our family room television since it’s our nicest tv, so I am forced to hide out in another room while it’s on. Plus, he’s filling up my DVR with the show, and it’s bumping all of my shows out of the queue. This show is kind of one of the worst things that has happened to me in recent history.
For my wife

This is one of the gifts that I give to my wife this Christmas – a Nikon DSLR camera. And guess what? She loves it. She’s even planning to have a travel-photography blog pretty soon to show case her photography skills. Hope she will learn to use this camera since this is kind of sophisticated compared to the previous digital cameras I gave her before.
Contagion – ICK!

Thanks for the article from Glenda Hanson
Have you guys seen that movie Contagion? I was looking through the Cable Providerschannel list the other day and saw it mentioned on at the theaters so I actually went out and saw a matinee. Boy, was that a bad idea! I am already a hypochondriac so watching a movie about a virus that spreads easily and kills just about everybody was the worst thing I could have done. Now my hands are raw from how I’ve been washing them all the time and my friends are getting really fed up with how I’m always wearing a face mask so I don’t inhale germs. I know that sounds ridiculous but I just don’t want to take any chances and get sick if I don’t have to. I know I’m probably being paranoid but I’d rather be like that than be sick with something that’s going to kill me in the long run and I know it’s only a matter of time before a virus like in that movie starts taking out people left and right.
Virtual home schooling

Home schooling is fun and it’s nice. But my wife is having a hard time with home schooling our five year old kid. She already bought different materials but the kid refuses to learn. Right now, she tries to use a virtual home schooling for K learners. And the five year old just learned the 50% out of the 100% lessons that’s available for level 5 k learner. Hope he will finish this one and will level up to 6.
Baby’s Going Away

I can’t believe my baby is all grown up and going to college in the fall! It seems like just yesterday when she was running down the stairs of our house, pigtails flying behind her, chattering about how much fun her first day of first grade was going to be. Of course time has flown by, and now my wife and I went to her high school graduation before we even had time to blink. I knew that I had to do something special for our little girl, and so we actually bought her a little house for her and her best friend to live in while they are in school. We might actually end up saving money with them living there so we don’t have to pay for rent, but that wasn’t the point initially- just an added bonus. We also went tohttp://www.allhomesecurity.COM to make sure that we feel safe with our girls living by themselves. Even though we’re not excited about her leaving us, it makes me feel good to know that she will be in a safe house when she’s gone. We sure will miss her, though!
Gadget mistakes that it cost more than $500 in replacing it
Jul.21, 2011, Category: Gadgets|Gadget Accessories
I need to replace my Android X into the newest Android X2 the other day. And that’s because I chipped my less than one year phone with my nail cutter thinking that I can’t detached the plastic screen protector. But when I let my wife checked my cellular, she said that there’s no protector at all. It’s purely the screen and it’s the reason why I always have my fingerprints on it. Anyway, I can’t do anything with my old phone except to replace it and it was one expensive mistake that I did since I paid more than $500 for a new unit of Android X2.
